Photography Tour: Puig d’en Galileu (Escorca)
Overview:
Puig d’en Galileu is one of the highest mountains in Mallorca, standing at an elevation of approximately 1,180 meters above sea level. It is located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The area has rich historical significance as part of an ancient network of stone-paved paths historically used for snow collection and ice production during the island’s pre-industrial era.
The stunning views are complemented by a striking contrast in vegetation as the path ascends from a dense forest to a treeless landscape dominated by stones and reed grass, shaped by strong winds, giving us the feeling of being in a remote place.
